The ideal athlete
Are you one of the lucky ones taking part in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc in the coming months? We have created a highly effective training plan, especially for runners taking part in this event, for athletes like you who are preparing for the “queen” race of the UTMB: 170 kilometers with 10000+ level difference.
The running plan is ideally suited to UTMB participants, masters athletes, or more experienced runners who need and prefer a relatively low-volume training program.
Before starting the plan, build your training plan to the point where you run at least three times a week, with your longest run being 16km or more.
Heart rate guided workouts
Ideally, you should have a heart rate belt so that you can be accurately guided during your workout, so you know for sure that you’re sticking to your pre-set effort zones.
100% STRUCTURED WORKOUTS
Each workout can be exported by syncing the TraininPeaks platform to a compatible device (Garmin, Coros, Polar). The watch will automatically guide you through your training session with indications of running duration and intensity.
LIFE PLAN
Every running training plan, including this one, created by TrailRunning Academy, is integrated with the TrainingPeaks platform. Any training plan purchased becomes a permanent part of your personal plan library, which you will find in the TrainingPeaks library. You can start, stop and reuse the plan whenever you want, starting or ending at any point in the plan. This training plan is also suitable for other 100 mile running competitions similar to the UTMB profile
Strength and conditioning
This plan is accompanied by an optional strength and conditioning training plan specifically designed to match and complement this plan.
